Spatial and Temporal Evolution of Leaching Zones within Potash Seams Reproduced by Reactive Transport Simulations

چکیده
Leaching zones within potash seams generally represent a significant risk to subsurface mining operations and the construction of technical caverns in salt rocks, but their temporal spatial formation has been investigated only rudimentarily date. To knowledge authors, current reactive transport simulation implementations are not capable address hydraulic-chemical interactions salt. For this reason, model developed complemented by an innovative approach calculate interchange minerals solution at water-rock interface. Using model, scenario analysis was carried out based on carnallite-bearing seam. The results show that evolution leaching depends mineral composition dissolution rate original rock, can be classified dimensionless parameters Péclet (Pe) Damköhler (Da). Pe > 2 Da 1, funnel-shaped zone is formed, otherwise front planar. Additionally, 1 sylvinitic flow barrier. Most scenarios hybrid forms these cases. simulated shapes mineralogies confirmed literature data used assess hazard potential.

It is in this connection that it becomes very difficult at times for the agricultural scientist and practical agriculturist to meet on common ground, for very often a popular version of scientific reasoning may appear ambiguous, and in this case it would appear better to sacrifice the facile version (since the layman can always get an interpreter to explain if he is sufficiently interested) tha...
متن کاملSpatial and temporal evolution of argon sparks.
Optical emission spectroscopic studies of laser-created argon sparks are carried out. Pulses of 532 nm and 8 ns from a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser are used to create an argon spark at 1 atm. Gated photography of 2 ns is used to investigate spark evolution at early times. Electron temperature and density measurements are made from the spectral data. The Stark broadening of emission lines is u...
متن کاملMetamorphic evolution along the slab/ mantle interface within subduction zones
One view of the metamorphic subduction system supposes that coupled deformation and prograde/metasomatic reaction between the chemically enriched slab and the depleted mantle wedge promotes the formation of complexly hybridized lithologies along the slab/mantle interface. This type of model is based upon direct observations of the structure and petrology of high-P/T metamorphic complexes (e.g.,...
